Job Description
A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available immediately. in the research group of Professor Fenical in Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California. The successful applicant will play a critical role in promising projects of discovering antibiotics and anticancer compounds from unique bacterial isolates. Technical components include bacterial fermentation, bioactivity assays, natural product purification and structural determination.
Candidates must have abundant experiences in working with bacterial system and must be proficient in natural product chemistry including chromatography, MS and NMR analysis. Diligence, self-motivation and good English communication skills are required.
This position is for an initial term of one year with a possibility for extension up to three years. Preference will be given to a qualified candidate who can realistically start working in March 2010 or earlier.
